Okay, I don't know where to go in this site to find my answer, but I trust you guys have heard this question thousands of times, so if you could just link/direct me, I'd be VERY grateful:

I JUST got my P2 card for my HVX. I was shooting a music video yesterday with it and ran out of space and needed to dump it. But out of like 10 people equipped with and 5 laptops (Macs and PCs), every form of FireWire cord and Yahoo/Google searches, NONE of us could figure out how to do it. So we just canceled the shoot and went home.

I edit on Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. My PC has no P2 slot OR FireWire port. HOW DO I DUMP THIS FOOTAGE? I don't even know what to look for? Is there a FireWire->USB adapter that exist? Is there a machine that dumps P2 cards for you? Do I have to download a program? Is there perhaps a website that goes over EVERY OPTION for dumping? I need to know SOMETHING by the end of the day because Day 2 is tomorrow and this card is still full...

Thank you SO MUCH for your help!

You can use the camera as a reader if you still have it. Otherwise a PCMCIA equipped laptop or one of Panasonic's P2 readers. All this is in your manual...

Close this thread before it goes terribly wrong...

Huh? What do you mean. I seriously am VERY new to P2 as of yesterday. I've been searching the net for hours and I found this thing:
http://www.synchrotech.com/products-expc/expresscard-pcmcia-pc_cardbus_dueladapter_01.html

But I don;t know what part of the computer it plugs into

If you do not have an HVX manual you can find one online. If you're using a PC all you need is a USB connection - you don't want to use Firewire with Winblows.

Okay, I DO have a HVX manual, I thought you meant a P2 manual, cause I was gonna say, my card didn't come with one of those (Got it off of Ebay, lol)

So I can capture MXF files via USB?? HOW?

To repeat what everyone else said above, all of this is in the manual. You might want to have a look at it.

Okay, so I see now that it plugs into a slot called a PCMCIA as Noah mentioned. My laptop doesn't have that either. All I have are these plug ins and my HVX. How can I make this happen:

Your AC on the shoot should know all of this. If you don't have an AC on this shoot you should definitely get one.

I can suggest a few in Los Angeles, if you are interested PM me.

Dude- you are not listening. Read the manual- that's what RTFM stands for. Use your imagination for the "f" part.
