This is pretty much an open letter to all of the members here, but especially to those members involved in Betrayalfest.
We have a chance to be seen to a much wider audience than just the members here at dvxuser.com. For the first time ever there is now an audience vote where viewers don't have to be members to rate the films. This is actually a golden opportunity for all of us involved to make a concerted effort to raise awareness, not just of our own films but of the festival itself.
I know a lot of you would like to say " they should have somebody in charge of promotions" or something similar, but fact is that they don't. This is a community site run by moderators and the feats are sponsored by the advertisers. All of those cool prizes that you've seen from past festa have all been donated... And to a festival where we filmmakers don't even have to pay a fee!
Think about that. It's free.
So what would it hurt to raise awareness, invite your friends, make a facebook page and invite everyone you know and point them back to here? Some of you aren't on facebook but so what? There is a betrayalfest page up and all you have to do is join it or link to it. I've tried to keep the page current with posters and information and now interviews but unless people know about it: nobody is looking.

It's easy to make a facebook page. No reason every film shouldn't have one right? As long as they point back to the fest on their main pages it helps everyone.
Let's just make a group effort and see how we can promote the fest outside of the community. A wider audience is all we're ever looking for right?
