View Full Version : Documentary Film Fest?

I am editing a doc that a friend of mine and i have been shooting for the past few months. I am a student and the piece is about students, soooo..... We want to enter it as a student project, though it is not your average student project. It was all shot on two dvx's. Hopefully it comes out as good as we hope it will.

Anyway, anybody have any idea for some fests to enter it in.

Maybe we can start a DVX film comp. Entry fee is $50. Four or five catagories, winners get some sweet prize. Who knows, perhaps it could become of the who's who of dvx film makers (not that it isn't already).

Thanks for the help in advance.

try either a google search for "documentary film festivals" or join a listserv like "frameworks". They'll point you in the directions of dozens of experimental and documentary festivals every week, happening all over the country, and usually without an entry fee.

One of the premiere documentary film festivals in the world is right here in Durham, NC. It's the Full Frame documentary festival (fullframefest.org), and it's one of only like nine in the world whose entries are selected for the academy awards... give it a shot!
