Every year in February the manufacturers put out some pre-NAB press releases on their site, usually so the magazines will have these news stories in the magazines that are available at NAB.

Panasonic's are up on their press release site now.

Some of the things to be introduced at NAB include:

AG-MSU10 - a field all-in-one P2 offload device, slot reader, software, and hard drive bay.

AJ-PCD2 - a single-slot USB reader for P2 cards

BT-3DL2550 - a 3-D HD production monitor.

The "50" series -- pan & tilt camera, switcher, and support products, that can be controlled remotely through Internet Protocol (IP)

They're now taking reservations on the AG-3DA1 3-D camera, with Fall delivery and a $1,000 deposit

And, they're extending the EDIUS Neo 2 software deal through September, for AVCCAM cameras

These are the pre-NAB press releases. Usually there may be another product or two that goes unannounced until its introduction at the show floor (or at the company's official NAB press conference, usually held a day or two before the show exhibits open).

Great info.

I'm particularly intrigued by the "50" series. Any ballpark of what these are going to go for? Are we talking $1000 or $10,000?

You know everything I know on these; the press releases give some clues. The 3-D switcher says it'll be $5800, so I'm sure the HS50 will be a lot less than that. On their site they have an AW-SW350 switcher listed for $4410; it's the only other "AW" series switcher, so I would guess that if the same numerical order holds like it does in the cameras (lower number = lower price) than the HS50 would seem like it'd be lower priced than the SW350.

Hmm... No new pro or prosumer cameras (other than the 3D). Do they usually hold some big press releases until show time?

It's common for companies to want to surprise people with new camera at NAB.

I wonder what's going on with the P2HD and AVCCAM lines, didn't Jan say to expect some updates in there as well?

Panasonic has released a new switcher for 3D cameras (AG-HMX100 (http://www.spectratech.gr/en/product/26975/Panasonic_AG-HMX100)) it seems good looking and not expensive. I wonder if it can be used for all type of 3D cameras (Sony also has one...)

The pricing is a bit different in Europe that in the US. I dont know which is correct
