Hey all... Just lovin this AE section of the forum. Thought I would spread some knowledge of some really useful links.

Also, if anyone hasn't checked them out, the Meyer books (Chris & Trish Meyer) are the de-facto AE books. They'll cover everything about AE and put it in scanarios. Great reads even if you already know what you're doing.

Good Point on the books Kai, I also use and love those books...they are bloody expensive here in Canada...but well worth it. Shame the Meyers don't write for DV mag anymore :(
Tons of example files on the discs.

I attented an Advanced AE class taught by Trish Meyer last year and she is amazing at AE. I recieved a copy of her book and the DVD she made. It's real good stuff.

about the book on after effects, i noticed that the first one, vol 1. i think it was, said it was for ver 5.5, i only have ver 6, is it close enough that i won't go nuts trying to interpret what they mean?

The basics are still the same as far as how AE works, and the techniques they use can be applied across the board.
