Guys, is it possible to save mask (only) for future use instead of making a new one?

Thanks alot

Can't you make a mask in Illustrator?

I'm pretty sure you can. So just save the .ai file.

You can make a mask in Illustrator, and then copy paste it into AE.
If you've already made your mask inside AE simply copy paste it into AI.

Wait a minute..
I think that is not the kind of mask I need to save.
What I need is to save the keyframeable mask inside a layer , so I can use that mask on other layer or comp

All you need to do is copy and paste from one layer/comp to another layer/comp. It is saved in the composition when you save the project.

Yes, you are right, we can do it on adjustment layer, but what if I want to copy just the mask of layer A to layer B ?

Select the layer you want to copy de mask from, press 'M' then only select the Mask you wish to copy, press Ctrl-C and then just Ctrl-V on the layer you wish to apply this mask.
