I am a newbie with After Effects. I bought the Total Training set and am almost done with it. This is an amazing set that I highly recommend to anyone. I have never learned such a complex program so fast. However, I am looking some other forms of training to increase my knowledge. Can you guys recommend me any books? I have heard that Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects, Volume 1: The Essentials (2nd Edition, Version 5.5) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1578201144/qid=1078968634/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_3/102-8750368-8563367) is a good book, is that true? Will it pretty much be a repeat of the Total Training stuff? Thanks in advance.

The Creating Books... Vol 1 and 2 are the best books for AE by a long shot!!!! My copies have so many dog ears and post-it notes on the pages....highly recommended!!!

Best visual effects and broadcast design books......period.

Do you think I should wait until they write something for version 6? I know the same principles will apply, but you think they will go over some of the more newer features like the motion tracking and so forth?

AE has remained relativly the same in concept...you will always refer to these books because of the level of detail and specifics. Motion tracking is dealt with in book 1 and 2.

Ditto on the Meyer books.... can't go wrong with those. A must-have for any AE artist.
