Save frame as ....

Hi there,

I want to be able to save the best quality freeze frames as possible.
Which compression do I use in the "save frame as" option ?
I have been testing with PICt. & jPEG but pict seems to be a bigger file - so I guess its better in quality.
I dont know much about the other compression types ie "animation gif" - "tiff" & so on & so on.

I just want to be able to save a frame as good quality as the dv pal footage I working with - any ideas would be much appreciated.

Uncompressed TIFF would be my choice. There are a bunch of uncompressed image file types available, but TIFF is a good choice and viewable on pretty much any platform out there.

What you don't want to do is same the frame to a "lossy" file type (such as JPEG). They use compression that degrades the image quality.
