i just shot a short film/music video that takes place in paris in the late 60's/ early 70's. I decided to shoot it clean and let the wardrobe speak for itself. However, we want to tweak the color and texture as well as play with a handful of music video like effects. HOW DO I DO THIS>>>WHAT IS AVAILBLE TO THE DIY FILMMAKER?
i am reletively new to this and would appreciate any advice or leads to information that is not insanely "techie"

thanks

Well, I would suggest you look into your nle for some of the effects you are trying to accomplish. AE is a great tool, and can do a lot of great things, but if you have never used it before, it may prove to be difficult to make it do what you want. There are books available on Amazon on using the application. I guess you could hire myself or Kai to do the effects for ya... :)

Eureka's Film Look plug-ins are great if you're using FCP (and cheap too!)

Otherwise, there's always Magic Bullet, Cinelook, etc. for simulating the old film looks. For Paris in the '60's, I'd do a lot of heavy color saturation and some grain (think Godard's {Raoul Coutard's cinematography} "A Woman is a Woman" or "Weekend").
