Sorry, just had to rant. I'm in the office waiting for an AE project to render out, and I'm realizing that the last thing in the world I want to be doing on a Sunday morning is sitting in my office, waiting for an AE project to render.

So, on to something else--such as, if Adobe ever teamed up with someone to build a turnkey system that allowed AE to run realtime, they would completely own the market. And I would become the happiest man alive. Other than daisy-chaining a bunch of computers together, are there any good hardware components on the market that excellerate render/preview time drastically?

There is a company that sells a Cube render machine, that basically is 4 Pentium 4 computers stacked in one box... Its kinda like a turnkey render farm, however they dont need to farm out the renders as it acts like one system. Sorry, I have no idea what the company was called, just that it was cool. Something like redbox or something.

Unfortunately, as of right now (or whenever you're reading this ;)), there is no way to get AE to run realtime. *It has no hardware support of that kind, nor does it look like it will for some time. *AFAIK, Apple's Motion is the first motion graphics-type program that provides anything closely resembling a realtime workflow. *That is its best feature despite all of its current limitations.
