I made this a while ago, like last year or something. I'm watching Charlie's Angel's, and I get thirsty, so I bring myself a soda.;) It's okay, the colors are a little saturated, and the sound is really not that good. But here ya go! Tell me what ya think!

That was the funniest thing I have ever seen.

First thing, put the camera on a tripod, it CANNOT move. Film it once, walk in, set the drink down, and walk out. (For added realism, look at where you will be sitting.) The can also CANNOT move. Then sit down, pretend to watch some TV, look over at where you were, then pick the drink up and sip it.

Pull the footage and put it in AE. Set the SECOND shot as layer 1, and the FIRST shot as layer 2. Get the timing of the movements synced up. Mask off the 2nd layer, including the door and the can. So now it will look like you came in and set the can down, but when the person sitting reaches for it, his hand will dissapear behind the mask. To fix this, before your hand comes into the shot, bring the Mask Expansion down.

*It helps alot if your in a room where the lighting is completely controlled by you. Because you will be able to tell the difference of lighting between the masks.

*The timing may take some practice.

*I found it better if the person who is setting the can down is hidden by something with a straight egde (like the side of a bed)

Hope I explained that well! If not, let me know what your having trouble with. Once you get this technique down there are tons of great uses for it.
