Hello!

I'm filming a student film for grad school and I need help with some production design. I need to build an ocean and fake boat for a fantasy sequence where my lead actress is out at sea.

The ocean just needs to look similar to something you would see on Sesame Street, so imagine foamcore cut to look like waves - that go back about 3 waves deep for depth. The set is supposed to look like it could be out of a child's play.

We're filming with the EX-1, so any tips you have on how to build the thing or the best way to build it in relation to HD would be awesome.

Thanks!

Sound pretty easy, conceptually. For the look you're going for, and to add depth, don't paint the cardboard completely solid. One layer with some brushing would work. With a primer layer on the back, of course.

Use forced perspective for your waves and it will have greater depth.
