Fake action film trailer

Hi, wanted to share this fake action trailer made for a Norwegian "revy" (a sort of school play/musical/sketch show). The revy was about a film crew making an action film called "THE DEADLY 7 - Rangers of sin - Vol. 1" and near the end they showed this trailer.

I was the photographer and editor. I also did the cheesy effect shots of the city and the girl hanging from a building.

It was shot mainly on the Canon 7D, some are EX1.

The fake action film used the seven deadly sins as a theme and each character had their own color that we used a lot in production design and lighting.

Overall I liked it. I liked the idea, and some of the shots were really nice.

What I missed was a bit of an 80's feel to it though, a bit more cliché if you know what I mean. Oneliners, stuff like that. Generally also action heros should be in their 30s rather than their early 20's, but hey I know what it's like putting something like that together.

I liked that shot of the girl hanging over from the city, and the guy tossing the granade.

The actors in the trailer are the same as the ones in the school play, so they're only 16-19 years old.

And you know, we actually had planned to put in some cheesy one-liners but we only recorded one and it was just too stupid

You should check out some real trailers for good 80's action movies and create your own according to the same structure. The slow motion-speed up thing didn't come until after the first Matrix movie in 1999.

I don't know, I thought this was awesome. I love it the shot where the guy with the revolver throws the grenade. Nice time effects.
