Hi, there!

in my current projekt (youth movie) i need some special effects and think, i can do that with AE.
But how do i import it to premiere (which file format, compression type)?
And when i cut the movie in premiere and i want to ad some plug in filters for AE? Do i export the movie from premiere (which file format, compression), open it in AE, add the effect and export it again?

What ist the usual way to ad special effects, cut and finish a movie (create DVD) in premiere and AE?

thanks, thomas

hi thomas

AE6 can read Premiere project files. To take a project from
Premiere to AE, you simply import the Premiere project file into
AE. Your timeline will appear as a composition in the project window... To play it safe you should refrain from applying any effects whatsoever to your clips in Premiere. Use it as a cutting tool exclusively... then apply all image processing once you have the project over in AE. This ensures that you'll subject your footage to only one decompression/compression cycle... also note that the integration of AE and Premiere appears to be one-way... i.e. once in AE you can't easily bring your project back into Premiere... so make sure your cut is FINAL !!! ;)

hope this helps... good luck,

serra

ppro 1.5 and AE can pretty much swap most files.. ppro 1.5 can use your plugins from your version of AE right in premiere. so you dont even have to switch into AE to apply them, and you can copy and paste stuff from one app right into the other.
