Hi All
did U see that the new Nikon coolpix P100 has 1080p video with stereo audio?
..so we can be sure that the next "D90".. D7000 will has also...
and one more interesting think about P100: "High-speed shooting at maximum size 3648 x 2736 (10M) at a rapid 10-fps (approx.), or up to 120-fps in Sport Continuous mode"

It appears to have a 5.6x crop factor so no shallow DOF. The continuous shooting option is really interesting and hopefully we'll see it appear in the D90 replacement along with the backlit sensor.

Sure the 7D is a nice camera and Red will be nice. But to those who follow these things what are the likely DSLR releases over the next 6 months, rumors etc and what is likely?

to come-

Nikon D900? a 5DMKII killer with 1080p and H.264 (release immanent, PMA announcement?)
Nikon D90 replacement (by northern summer)
Nikon D4 (field testing now)
5DMKIII (not till the end of the year apparently)

I want something with a D3s sensor with 1080p and a better codec.

squig you said that the D90 replacement might come out by Northern Summer. What does that mean exactly, never heard the term before.

Too add to speculation...today while downtown Vancouver. I spotted a guy with a taped up Nikon. It looked to be a full frame but it also had a built in flash. I took a picture of him holding it but as soon as I did he hurried off and dissapeared into the crowd. It was rumored that they would be field testing the D4 during the Olympics but this definitely was not it...maybe d900 or d700x?

Why do you want H.264?
because he likes an overly noise reduced image that has to be converted before he can edit it properly? ;-) i think a lot of people still don't realize that it's nikon's bitrate that's too low, not the codec. since they haven't been able to improve it though i guess it won't happen so in that respect a move to a codec that performs better at low bitrates is probably better than nothing.

Maybe even a D400? Does the D700 have a built in flash?

Ya the D700 has a built in flash... someone on Nikon Rumours has chimed up saying that it was them in the photo... time will tell.
