I was thinking of buying a cheap laptop for offloading P2 cards. If I can't find one with a PCMCIA slot, can I just build that separately and connect via USB? Can someone recommend a reasonably priced one?
Will just a cheap Netbook work for around $300? I'm not going to edit or even play Minesweeper on it, just copying and pasteing footage from two 16 GB P2 cards. Is a built in slot faster than USB? I need it to be fast but not necessarily lightning speed. Say a gig a minute.
I've searched through some of the older posts but most of them seem to be Mac oriented.
