Hi, this is my first time trying a composite in AE. I think it looks very ugly. Its a 3D jellyfish with some test footage...please tell me how I can improve upon this. Just some specs, I rendered out an image sequence with Alpha channel in my 3D program...then I just did a screen blending mode inside After Effects

My main question is: Am I supposed to use the Alpha channel of my images somehow instead of a blending mode?

Thanks in advance!

lee. I saw nothing really wrong with it. It's kind of hard to judge this shot because the jelly fish is not in its right enviroment. You should try compositing ojects in its right enviroment, like in the background of your grab, you can put some distant homes or something. Just make sure you lighting, shadows, colors match the existing scene. It's looking good Lee. I see you as the next Steven Cho... ;)

as always, I thank you bspidy for your help! may I ask though, when you composite 3D objects with an alpha channel what blending mode you use?

:)
