To you hardware guys: What is the technical prohibition--if any--that keeps Panasonic from building their cameras with a SATA port?

If the cards are already sitting nicely in the camera and they provide a Firewire port--a tiny little thing...what about giving the user SATA export capability where it is controlled from the computer.

Say a SATA cable out of the camera to the Sonnet Tempo SATA Pro ExpressCard/34 sitting in the Macbook Pro 17" many of us have had for the past year?

I know they make money with all of these separate card reading/media offloading peripheral devices, but how about listening to the needs of the users who could definitely consider using the camera or would need to rely on the camera as the reader in some production situations? SATA would make such a thing feasible.

And now the USB 3.0 standard will arrive that is light-years ahead of 2.0.

If the controller is in the computer why can't Panasonic find the space for a SATA output as the Default offload port?

i'd say usb 3.0 p2 card reader for 300$ would be perfect and no need for sata port.
