I am thinking of buying a DVX100 and was wondering if any of you have ever dealt with profeel.com or profeelvideo.com. I think they are the same thing. They had a great review on dealtime.com but not so great on others. Anyway, just seeing if anyone knows about them. Thanks.

Got mine on Globalmediapro.com fantastic service. :) $3529 with second battery pana mic and 2 year warranty. hate having to buy from O/S but.... you guys on that side of the world should spare a thought for us poor bastards over here in Australia, to buy this camera here in Aussie dollars would have cost no less than $7500 and probably over $8000! >:(

Gonna hafta double up the EVSonline.com, that is where I bought mine from, great guys over there (ask for Cody). They have super fast shipping, and will beat B&H pricing on almost everything.

My camera shipped yesterday, so I should have it tomorrow :) I've used CDW before, and I've always been treated good. They have the best customer service I've ever dealt with. If I send an email with a question, I get a reply within 5-10 minutes - from a real person :o I highly recommend them.

Thanks for the advice everyone, it has been really helpful. With the profeel gray market story out there I am now too paranoid to consider them. I checked with Panasonic for authorized dealers and decided the extra money would be well spent for my piece of mind. Looks like EVSonline and B&H are cool. I am still saving and hopefully will get the camera someday soon. Does EVSOnline give you flexibilty on accessories if you buy them at the time of purchasing the camera? Thanks again for your input and I will be checking out the forum everyday. I am a total newb and am starting to feel reasonably knowledgable about DV. Can't wait to get it and start practicing and learning.

Hi there,
I bought my DVX-100E (PAL) from www.biz-max.net, and got well looked after, it arrived in the country within 2 days. AMAZING. Considering I live in New Zealand.
All emails to Winston are answered within minutes, he must live on the computer. I found him on E-Bay and checked out his entire feedback before handing over the cash.
Also got the 16:9 as well. Hey, might as well.
Living in New Zealand, it's impossible to get a demo model or to see one in operation. Basically I bought the camera over the XL1s from everything I read in this forum.
So thank you to all you people who write.

This same discussion runs rampant on the DV.com forums and I was caught up in the same exact situation.
I was told Profeel.com was the only legit $3000 price, but saw ResellerRatings.com reviews and was skeptic. But reading a lot of the bad reviews, they're pretty much asinine.
Well, I'm glad to say I purchased from Profeel, wasn't hassled at all for extras, had the final price of $3066 after shipping, and it arrived perfect. Buying was a hassle though but only because my bank had a limit on how much I can spend in a day and billing addresses and yadda yadda, all of which either my own fault or the banks. Through that whole hassle I had to make and receive several calls to/from a rep at Profeel who was very helpful.
Actually, my BIGGEST grievence was with the Postal Service. They simply left this massive package outside my door while everyone was home. Didn't knock or anything. $3000 sitting on my welcome mat. I've still been meaning to call and complain.

Do complain! You cannot let this go. It is negligence on the part of postal services. If someone had stolen it, it would have caused you a lot more grief. I'm not even sure insurance would have covered it. I'm surprised though that it was not FedEx'ed, in which case, some sort of recourse would have been possible.
