Any thoughts on the best bags for the DVX? People have talked about this, but so far I haven't found anything to conclusive. Back-packs are a little too travel-doc for me. I'm thinking about a Pelican case as well, but it seems an overkill for most applications. I intend to use it for indoor/outdoor location shoots in mild conditions but would like it to offer good protection. Also would be great to be able to use as carry on luggage. Some contenders:
Porta-Brace DV-4: Specifically marketed for the DVX on P-B's site. Seems to lack enough pockets.
Porta-Brace Traveler: This thing looks nice. It isn't designed for the DVX, but you can fit a XL1 in it, so I assume it should be fine. Nice pockets. I like it. Comes with a white card, so you can feel like a real pro. Expensive.
Kata Shell 03: I like the concept. Looks a bit small though. I don't want to have to fold my eyepiece in an angle or remove the rubber part.
Kata Exo 33: Looks like it holds a lot. The bottom storage compartment looks pretty inwieldly though.
Kata CCC-102: Looks kind of small again. I like the simple design however.
Panasonic official soft case: I like the DV cinema patch, but it looks like it offers less protection than the other bags.
