I bought a panasonic AGDVX100 about a year ago. I love this camera and take EXTREMELY good care of it. This past weekend I went to film something and was upset to find a divot on the lens. Almost like a hard piece of glass or a dent in the glass. You can imagine my surprise to this and my confusion as to what it was and how it got there.
The thing is I'm not even quite sure if it is on the actual lens. Its the piece of glass that's between the lens and the "outside world". Its the first piece of glass you encounter if looking at the camera.
The other problem is, is that NO ONE will tell me how much this is to fix. My camera is still under warranty and i have called a number of places, including the only authoized fix it place in ILL., and no one will give me an estimated cost. They all tell me to just send the camera in. I'm not real comfortable just sending it in, I live in California and there is no place out here that is authorized to fix it.
I tried to do some research online to determine the name of the piece that has a divot on it and the price to fix it, I have had no luck finding any info about either.
If anyone has any info or suggestions as to what I could do, I would really appreciate it.
Either respond to this or e-mail me directly at:

THANK YOU
