We just received our new 72mm adapters with outside threads to allow 72mm filters or lens caps to be used. Some of you guys asked for this feature so here it is. We'll get a picture of it on the website soon.

We have received some requests to make a black version of the matteblox instead of charcoal gray. I think the gray and black 2 tone looks pretty sharp. Some think that the black finish looks more like pro camera equipment. hmmmmm. What do you guys think?

I am fond of the 2 tone.. I think an all black may look a little bland...

When Henry Ford was asked what colours were available for his early vintage cars, his reponse was: "You can have any colour you want - as long as it's black."

Black would be my personal preference. While some people might get hungup on a "professional" appearance, I've found black draws less attention when shooting in public places.

Cavision and Chrosziel matteboxes look great in black. I've never heard anyone complain or wish they were two tone grey, or any other colour for that matter.

My two cents.

I agree the grey looks sharp and distinctive, but I always like black.

I own a two tone, I think it looks great. Is there any way for someone who bought a Cinetactics Matteboxx with all accesories to trade to a adapter with threading on both sides?

I am sure you can work something out with them, they are a damn good company.

If you are already a Matteblox owner and want to purchase our new 72mm Threaded Adapter, we can give you a good deal. Since it will only available to existing customers, I don't want to post it for everyone to see. Contact me and I will let you know the specifics.

I like the way the matteblox looks now. Maybe a different color for the anamorphic lens Matteblox adapter when they make it. ;)

This color thing is really getting confusing. I think carrying two colors is more trouble than it is worth for us. But, it seems to be 50/50 on the black and gray front. I guess we had hoped that there would be a clear winner. The arguments for black are strong, but the arguements for grey are also quote good as well. Black is the pro color. Grey is what makes us a little different. Maybe we can find a darker grey, that would be an interesting compromise.

What's the best way to contact you? Are we talking about a trade out? Or just buying a new one at a special price? 8)

If you need the thread on the front of your adapter you can contact us at contact@cinetactics.com and we verify that you have already purchased our 72mm Threaded Adapter, then give you the info. We don't want just anyone to know about the trade in. For most of our customers, the previous model will work great for all their needs. For those who feel that they need the extra front thread, we will be happy to take care of you.

O.K I see a new trend here. Evertime we buy a product it will be discontinued/ improved ala the DVX100A every 6 months L.O.L. 8)
