What do you guys/girls think of it for the DVX100? 8) Is it to much? :-/

The 316 is rated for a 35lb load - which is a lot. You run the risk of having to fight heavy spring returns.
I've had various Bogen heads over the years. They make really nice products for the money. One was a 510 or 516 (I don't remember) which is rated for around 20 lbs. It worked okay for a full size Beta rig except for one thing: I had a constant stiction problem. I even sent it to the US service center under warranty, they rebuilt it, and it still had the problem. With stiction, after the head rests motionless for several seconds it takes more force than usual to move it -making for a jerky start on a tilt. But I digress...
I'd go with something smaller. The 503 (rated at 13.2 lbs) works very well with the DVX, is much cheaper - and no stiction! Get it with a ball mount and appropriate set of sticks.
