DVX Book for HMC40?

hello,
i am pretty new to this and ovbiously don't have the money to pay someone to teach me the basics, so is there an other option than just "playing" with the camera in order to learn to use?

i have seen a pretty cool book+dvd for the DVX series cameras....is this something that could be applied to the hmc's?

is there a similar book you would recommend for this purpose?

I purchased Barry's HMC150 Book for use with the HMC40 and highly recommend it. If you're looking for more information on AVCHD and many of the features of the HMC40, this book will get you most of the way there.

a little expensive, but i think it'll be worth it. i will get it with the camera.
