I've got an old Canon FD (Vivitar) lens that I'd like to use with my D90. Is there a lens adapter that works? I sure want to hold infinity and I'd like it to be reasonably sharp.

I'd also like to know if there exists an adapter for using Nikon non-AI lenses on a D90. I know that you can send your non-AI lenses in and get them "AI'd" but I was hoping there might be an adapter that did the deed. What about an extender? Would that allow the old non-AI lens on my D90?

Wont work.

The Nikon body is too fat, you'd have to jam the Canon lens inside the body and that wont do.

An extender wont let you have infinity focus, it'd just make you all macroey and blurry. You'll just have to get a file and shag the sticky outbits of the non-AI lens til it resembled an AI fit.

Not even the Canon FD to Nikon AI lens adapters that have a glass element? I'm told they work reasonably well (perhaps good enough for video) and keep infinity.

And the 2X extender is for an old non-AI Sigma Nikon mount lens that I want to double and use on my wife's D90. I'm hoping the non-AI lens will mount to the 2X extender without a problem because the AI 2X extender is supposed to mount to the D90 without damaging the camera.

Depends on the Canon FD glass, do they allow room past infinity to get focus?

I haven't tried these FD-AI adapters and I'm skeptical, but let us know if they do because I'd be interested in it too!
