It actually is a true story. And you're right, it is sad.

The public voting for the contest starts on Dec 22nd and runs through Jan 10th. I hope everyone will go vote for "Barry's Birthday". Thanks for your support!

Actually, I got ahead of myself there...

For the next week, the judges will be wading through over 800 videos [correction - over 1100 videos now] to choose the 50 finalists. The public will get to vote from among those finalists, so we're hoping and praying that 'Barry's Birthday' makes the cut.

It might help our chances if folks would go to the Nikon festival site and post a comment on the 'Barry's Birthday' video. We'd really appreciate it.

We're now anxiously awaiting the judges' decision on the 50 videos that will make it to the rinal round of the competition. If you would please take a few minutes, go to the Nikon website, and comment there on our films, that might help our chances. I know it takes a little time, and during these last few days before Christmas, time is a commodity we have too little of. But we would really appreciate any help you can give us.

I'm very sad to report that "Barry's Birthday" didn't make the cut at the Nikon Festival. We're all very disappointed and bummed.
