When I capture my 1080i/24p footage, it comes into FCP as 29.97. Pretty sure this is normal.

I loaded the Sequence Preset for 1080/24P footage. It sets my compressor in my sequence settings to 1080/30P, which I'm assuming is right.

If I Export>Quicktime Movie, what should my export settings be? No matter what I do my final footage is interlaced. What am I doing wrong?

This issue comes up intermittently...most people who have shot 1080/24p for use in FCP (yours truly included) don't make this mistake twice since it's a pain in the a$$ to overcome.

FCP does not have a preset for logging and transferring 1080/24p footage. It does, however, have one for 1080/24pA footage, so follow DJDecay's recommendation unless you're into wasting time and/or kicking yourself.

Remove the 2:3 pulldown from your 60i to convert it into 23.976 edit timebase.
You can use Cinematools if you know how (AA/BB... etc frame cadence per each clip).
You'll get back a progressive 1080p24 footage MOV files from Cinematools. Next time shoot at 1080-24PA during log-and-transfer FCP automatically removes advanced pull down from that material.

I'm Going to download CinemaTools when I get home. One of my longer video files is segmented and importing into FCP makes one clip. Will Cinematools autojoin the .mxf files like FCP or do I have to import into FCP, then export as a single QuickTime movie for Cinematools? I figure just use Current Settings?

After the files are fixed I should be able to use them in a 1080/24P timeline?
