I heard from someone on youtube that their old manual nikon lens did not work on the D300s. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? I have some great manual lenses that I will be using if I get a D300s and it might be a deal breaker if I can use them (iscorama anamorphic is one of them).

Thanks!

If they are AI/AI-S (or AI converted) then they will definitely work (aside from 1 or 2 exceptions I believe).

AI/AI-S lenses will meter on the camera body of the D300s as it has the AI coupling tab.

See this page for the official stuff from Nikon:

A few other pages to see:

And there's a good photo on this page that shows the difference between an AI and a non-AI lens: http://photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00V6PK

Personally, I've been using an old Nikon 35mm f/2 AI lens that my dad brought way back in 1979 on my D300s. All of the older AI/AI-S lenses just have this "feel" to them. They just feel really solid and for filming stuff, manual focus works really well.
