Hello;

I know most of the users here are advanced - pro, however we all like to save money right ?

Well I decided I wanted to design and build a Mic Boom & Shock Mount system. A system that works like a pro system at a fraction of the cost.

Over the weekend I finished the design and then I proceeded to build it. I have to say it turned out way better that I first thought. (3 prototypes later)

It is designed to work with MED to LONG shotgun mic's. I use the Sennheiser ME 66 w/ K6 power module. You can also add your shag windscreen with no problems.

I also created an 11 page HOW TO tutorial, which features step by step instructions and photo's to guide you through.

It works like a dream with ZERO sound vibrations from the grips hands.

The tutorial is 1.5 MB and you can find it on my site in the downloads section.

Have fun and good luck.

I downloaded the PDF but got an error when I tried to open it. I tried it in photoshop and it asked for a password. Anyone else have this problem?
BTW thanks for taking the time to post your tutorial on this. IT is really appreciate by all I'm sure.

That is odd, I uploaded a new version of it just in case it was the file. Make sure you update your Adobe Acrobat reader :)

Take care.

Yes, that is a nice tutorial.

I must admit to seeing others use painter's poles, etc. for several years now.

However, they didn't produce such a nice tutorial.

Good job!

I think it was up a long time ago, before he did an overhaul on his web site, that's why I was hoping somebody on this thread had downloaded it and could post it again, well, maybe I'll email the guy later tonight when I get back.

Hello all;

I am sorry, I did not think anyone cared about my little tutorial hahaha. It is good to see that people are putting it to good use.

Anyway I have re-released it, you can download the PDF print edition "How To Series: Mic Boom & Shock Mount" at: http://members.shaw.ca/kloudi/HTS-MicBoom.zip

I am sorry for the downtime of this tutorial. Enjoy.

Take care.
