Shot and edited this with the GH1. Kit lens and onboard mic used. It's for a technology company called Swype (http://www.swypeinc.com).

We basically went out and tried to show people the product, then had them try it. At first we tried to ask if we could shoot beforehand and this was highly unsuccessful. So instead, we did the demo while I was shooting, then got the consent form signed afterwards. I feel like the GH1 helped greatly in this regard because I don't think people knew they were being filmed due to the SLR form factor. As well I think the reactions are more genuine because of this.

For stabilization I used a "free steadicam", meaning I held my Cullman Video Magic Tripod by its balance point. As you'll see I didn't do this very well at all times unfortunately, but for the most part it worked quite well.

Feedback is much appreciated.

It's great, the reactions seem absolutely natural which makes the whole thing authentic and credible (and fun to watch). I didn't notice any distracting camera shakes at all but I didn't pay attention to that

Ahahha, this video I also made for the company got leaked if anyone's interested. It's a short head to head comparison of the Omnia II Swyping versus the iPhone. It was shot on a costco $400 camera so nothing special, but cool to see for more of a demonstration of the tech. It's more of a demonstration than proof, as I know a lot of people could go way faster than that on the iPhone. Then again it was shot with an early version of Swype on that phone... and screens make a big difference, if Swype were on the iPhone it would be really really fast.

They took that one down and switched it out for a version that didn't have 25 minutes of black, lol. Anyway, I've updated the embed.

Nice video, and I learned some things watching it.

It would interesting to see if attaching a small piece of "windscreen" foam across the GH1's built-in mics will reduce wind noise.

Thanks! I actually found that the wind cut feature helped a lot. In parts where there is wind noise, I didn't have the wind cut on high enough. Even if it's only a bit windy, I think high is the way to go.
