Been reading a lot about folks who put down the D90 when comparing them to other DSLRs that shoot HD video. From a video shooting standpoint, it seems like it's not quite as popular as the other big three. Though, for shooting stills, that's a different story.
I was curious what videos you guys think show off the best of the D90s video shooting capabilities?

I've got a D90, I shoot with it a lot and like the 'look' but if I'm being honest with myself, it's nowhere near as good a video camera as the 7D, heck, even the GH1 is a more capable video camera.
I agree on the Vinyl Stax mention.

A friend of mine shot this music video with his D90.

Not saying this is the best the camera has to offer but I was impressed that he shot this with his D90. He also said that with a 8gb card he was able to shoot longer in video mode.

What's out there now must be thousands of hours of video. Since you ask, I'm linking what I came across in a search after I started looking at buying the D90:
http://www.vimeo.com/1902141
and

They're just little tests, but it struck me that the guy was getting a very decent image from that
little D90. I was thinking, I've got lenses, and now I can interchange them with a Nikon video camera.
The guy has other tests too, on the same site - all family stuff but like the
above nicely observed. I'd get him to shoot my nobudget movie, for sure. I love the look he gets.
@skinny: You'll be pleased to know the guy who shot the family videos I linked to above traded to the Panasonic. If I remember, he thought the Panasonic was very nice. I bet he gets great video, and he's the common link!
@OP: for stills you are right; in the price range the D90 is the pick of the bunch.

Myself i prefer the D90 over hte GH1 for its superior stills, but i do agree that the 7D blows the both away and i want one badly.
You can check out all the stuff ive done on my blog or vimeo channel (both in my sig)
Currently working on my biggest production yet, a 7 min or so thriller short (should be finished in the next 2-3 weeks, hoping to be good enough for some low level festivals)

You mean more than the 5 minute time limit? I'm calling BS on that one.

Mate, your work is fantastic. It saddens me that things like a badly shot GH1 test gets more "Likes" on vimeo than your works of art. Infact, most of the works here wouldn't look out of place on something like www.thereel.net or at the cinema.
And I know the original poster is thinking about what camera to get but, yeah. The thing about the d90 is that it's the only camera I've seen on these boards that have such a huge divide in the footage... when it looks bad, it looks very bad. When it looks good, it looks REALLY good. So just get whatever camera you feel is best for you, and not what the technical specs or forum members say.
