I'm based in the U.S. but travel a lot internationally. Is there an adjustment on the 170 to correct for countries on a 50 MGH cycle to avoid light flicker?

The "default" shutter speed in 24p and 30p is 1/50 of a second. If shooting 60i or 60p, you'd probably want to try 1/100.
