Tomorow im going to shoot an "instruction" video for a client. I thought i never would think of 4:3 again but you can get closer in a sense with 4:3. 16:9 shows so much on the sides. I probely go 16:9 since i never filmed 16:9 to crop it later to 4:3. Just wonder if its common? I think the hvx have userguides for frameing.
cheers
Joel
ive seen it done all the time. people frequently put tape on their viewfinders/monitors to keep them in line.
my process is just to roughly center the subject, then i can pan and scan it in post.

I've done this before. Just put up the 4:3 guides on the LCD and you're set. Crop when you export.

It was supposed to be shown on tv screens aswell so I went 16:9. I thought we maby should have considered 4:3 if it was only for the web. Thanks for the input!/Joel
