I was on a shoot over the weekend with a DP who owns a Sony HD camcorder that appears to be of the same quality of the HVX200. One of the features I found fascinating was the instant replay features. I'm a Panasonic man (I own a DVX100a) and have been wanting to upgrade for quite some time now. What replay features does the HVX200 have?

Oh, something else I loved about the Sony is the built in lens cover. Amazing! I wish Panasonic had that feature.

In short, what features do you guys love about the HVX200 that make it shine over other HD camcorders?

Thanks guys!

The HVX is a solid state camera, so instant replay is available at any time.

As to your other question, that's a whole 'nother can of worm that I don't want to get into because it's been debated to death and tends to lead to a lot of "My camera is better than your camera" ugliness. Do a search on HVX comparison and you'll find plenty of answers.

Yeah, I could see where people would argue over this and that. I guess I figured since this is a HVX200 thread it would be populated by HVX users.

Ultimately trivial questions I guess. I'm doing research as we speak.

The batteries he was using were amazing as well... they tell you how often they've been charged, how much juice they have, etc. Amazing.

Sounds like he was using the Sony EX1 to me.
