Hi,

I'm looking to hire an NTSC version HVX200/201 for a shoot in the UK. I've been through all the usual hire companies and no one has one in stock. Can anyone here help me? - It's for a shoot in the South Midlands on Sunday 22nd for a US company. I've been asked to shoot 24p to DV tape, shame my PAL camera can't do it!

Any help will be rewarded!

Euan.

Why not hire a HPX171 and switch to 60hz 24p, I know it hasn't got the tape but can't you come to some arrangement over how the file is delivered?

We've got a couple of HPX171 but we're not really set up to hire as such. (and I think we're on a shoot that weekend.)

That might be an option if I can't find an HVX, but they're a new client and I'd like to keep things as close to the brief as possible. Do I take it all HPX171's record 24p?

Thanks for the reply!

Yep, they can be switched frequency in the menu. It's an all or nothing swap though, you either shoot in 50hz or 60hz as the camera has to be switched off between switches IIRC.

It's getting to tape that's going to be a bit of an issue.

I know Decode provided all camera equipment for a concert a couple of weeks ago at the Hammersmith Apollo and the client was an American company that requested NTSC. I was part of the crew booked to shoot the gig. They had a whole bunch of P2 cameras, at least 8, and minicams. I would call and ask them.

You can always use a HPX170 though.. Shoots PAL and NTSC...

I hope it helps!!
