I'm excited to use my new GH1 alongside my HMC150 at a wedding this weekend. I'll be shooting 720 24p with the HMC150. What's the best option for me to get my GH1 footage to 720 24p - Shoot 1080 24p and downrez? Or shoot 720 60p and convert to 24p?
And then once I've decided on what mode to shoot, should I remove pulldown/conform in Compressor before dropping it into a 24p timeline, or can I just drop the transcoded ProRes files straight into a 24p timeline? I've read plenty of posts and the sticky on 24p conversion, but I don't fully understand what that process achieves that dropping straight into the timeline doesn't. In other words, how does quality differ between the two workflows?
Thanks in advance for any advice - much appreciated!
