Well, I can't tell you that...

But, I can tell you to date, the numbers come out to about an average of 2,000 downloads per film.

Not too shabby. Lots of folks out there watching the films. So, big thanks to Larry that things run as smooth as they do on the technical side... When you have 45 films being download 2,000 times each...

That's definitely impressive.

Thanks to all those that make this happen!

Great work Jason and Larry, Barry, ....... It is always a pleasure to watch every four month a bunch of films. Only for your statistic - Jason (my husband) and me did only one time the download of the films, but we both watched them.

Holy crap that's huge! And when you figure the threads are getting way under 100 comments that says something about the view-to-comment ratio.

Congrats on running such a smooth show. I had no idea these were watched that much, I'd personally thought somewhere in the low hundreds

LossFest films were downloaded like over 3,000 times each. That's the only other fest I have numbers for at the moment.

but, yeah.. always in the thousands of downloads per film rather than the hundreds...

Lot of potential in these little fests... Hopefully we can tap into that potential more and more moving forward.

sweet!

Question.. Is DVXuser.com going to put a banner or send out a mass email like in the past? I think they should let people know about the screen as many folks are members, but rarely venture this side of the boards to the festival. I think a bigass banner and an email would jumpstart those numbers even more.

yes?

2000 people watched my film? that's awesome! i was thinking it would be like 200. if we're no longer in the competition, can we post our film in higher res elsewhere, or do we need to wait for final results?

If you are no longer in the competition, you may do as you wish with your film.

... so is DVXuser.com going to send out a mass email about the festival? :) Hopefully it will encourage an influx of users to see these films and a vote.

Justin, I asked about this during the first round and I think some members frowned upon receiving such an email. Some mistook it for spam I think.

Here's Jason's response.

every time I do this, we get reported to spam police (even though we are only sending to people who have chosen to accept emails from administrators), and lots of angry emails and such...

So, it becomes a bit of a burden, and a risk I'm not sure has the payoff. Doesn't matter if you put it big bold ALL CAPS "YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS BECAUSE YOU HAVE ELECTED TO RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ADMINISTRATORS OF DVXUSER". People don't read. they just react sometimes :)

That said, I may look into trimming down who gets the email to just folks who have been active in the last several months and are eligible to rate and give it one more shot to see if it helps trim out the haters a bit.

ahhh.

makes sense. Hence why the boards mysteriously went offline into the matrix months back.

How about a big fatty bo-batty banner instead on the forum itself.. "MonsterFEST Viewing is Now Open"?

yup.

Jack... Everyone's seen that banner. Yes. But, a fresh one saying, "Viewing is now open.." watch the films now and vote!"

This banner is old news. Something fresh but with the same branding.

It has the opening day on it ...
But I guess I can see the benefit of a "now playing" banner and maybe even a "final round banner".
With your graphic skill, I think you just volunteered to make them for the LifeTime Channel Movie Fest :)

Woops. Dang. Leaked the Winter Human Drama Fest. Start watching the LifteTime Channel for research.
