How do I know that I've set the framerate on my HpX170? The reason I ask is because the other day I shot some stuff in 1080i/24p, and when I loaded the footage into Premiere there were still some interlaced frames.
I'm almost 100% sure it was set to 1080i/24p and the project settings within premiere were correct. Is there somewhere else I need to change the framerate besides in the menu?

No, but you do have to remove the pulldown (1080/24p is recorded within a 60i data stream using 2:3 pulldown).
What version of Premiere are you on? You should ideally be using 4.2, which (IINM) removes 1080/24p pulldown automatically.
And if you want to edit 1080/24p progressively, you should always use 1080/24pA mode instead of 1080/24p.

Thanks for the response. I'm using premiere pro CS4. How do I remove the pulldown? (I'm a noob, in case you haven't noticed yet)
Ok cool, I'll definitely be using 1080/24pA then.
One last question: I'm using my computer LCD monitor as a field monitor, but it only outputs to 720/24p. Can I set up a shot in 720p, check everything in the monitor, and just before hitting record, switch the camera to 1080i/24pA and get the same shot that was displayed on my monitor at 720/24p? (focus, iris, gamma, etc.)

You don't have to do anything to remove the pulldown; just edit in a 24p Sequence. It's automatic. (Assuming you have 4.1 or later.)

Not sure what you're referring to here -- what only outputs to 720/24p?
Can I set up a shot in 720p, check everything in the monitor, and just before hitting record, switch the camera to 1080i/24pA and get the same shot that was displayed on my monitor at 720/24p? (focus, iris, gamma, etc.)
Yes, that would work, but need more info on my above question.

Sure thing David. What I should have said was that my monitor only displays up to 720p. So if I switch the camera to anything higher than 720p, the monitor goes blank. So I won't be able to tell if all the settings and how I've got the shot set up (focus, iris, gamma, etc.) will be the same when I switch the camera to 1080p. But it should still look the same in theory, right?
Thanks for the help.
