Hello, I tried doing a search for this, but it kept telling me 'no keywords were found' so i figured i'd just post...

we've got a shoot coming up in december in an old abandon prison... i was wondering how well the batteries do in the cold weather. we've got two 8 hour batteries. do they drain quicker in the cold? would it be wise to rent a few more?

I didn't know they made 8 hour batteries. Mine last 5 hours, and most litium ion batteries don't work as well in the cold. I would get more.

either get more or get those heat packs that get hot when exposed to oxygen. They sell them at kmart, walmart, or any hunting/outdoors store and they're very cheap. Throw them in a bag along with the batteries and it will allow them to hold a charge longer.

All batteries last for less time in the cold. Get some spares, and if it's really cold, keep the spare batteries in your inside pockets of your coat (i.e., try to keep 'em warm).
