Hello, I just purchased 2 cameras: ordered 2 HPX170 but received HPX175. I did some googling and searching the forum, and turned up nothing stating the difference. The ebay seller has 26,000 instances of mostly positive feedback, and ebay sale was for 170, not 175...so if it really matters, I could probably have a good case to return it. So called them and they state the only difference is that the 170 is NTSC only and the 175 does both PAL and NTSC. After seeing some of the cautions about grey market items in other threads, I decided Id better turn to the forum to make sure its fine, or promptly return the cameras and start over. On the other hand, maybe there is no functional loss with the 175. Anyone know anything of the difference, or can point me in the right direction? Thank you so much!

The 175 does not do PAL and NTSC. The 175 is a Japanese NTSC version. You unquestionably have gray-market items there, and you have no USA warranty coverage. You also won't have gotten the free 16GB P2 card, nor will you have gotten the HVX+HPX Book, nor will you be eligible for the $500 mail-in rebate.

Thank you Barry. I look forward to getting a copy of your book.
DONT BUY CAMERAS FROM EBAY DEALERS! the 6 out of 60 that arent total scammers arent going to give you the support that an ablecine, or spec comm will.
its just not worth the risk

I looked at those listings, and they really should be identifying those cameras as 175s.
Regardless, access to warranty service is the only real issue.
With the HPX having so few moving parts....you could fret about it, or just go out and shoot!
