No green/blue screens were used in the making of my spec commercial. I'm curious to know if anyone can guess how I pulled it off.

Did you put the actor in front of a small red and white striped back ground and then composite in a larger flag and stage, for the longer shots, in AE (or similar FX program)? In the extreme long shot, the actor looks scaled and the flag looks like a drawing. The white stripes have a slight color difference.
Of course you could have put the ol' f**ker in front of a big ass flag...:grin:

yeah, in the shot when the whole flag is used as a backdrop you can actually see a rectangle with feather around the man.

You can see the color differences in the matte painting if you look close enough.
