do you have any info as to whether that will work with P2 cards or not? as i would HIGHLY doubt it or there wouldnt be all this chatter over cheap P2 readers... and the snowleopard debacle...

Looks like a rebranded version of the Addonics, which means it'd work with P2 on Windows systems but not on OSX.

The MFG's page doesn't list OSX as an option, only Windows OS's.

$25, with free shipping? Dang...

Okay, I just ordered one. I'll let you know if it works with P2 on Windows when it gets here.

youd think that with its "no driver" claim that it would be platform independent as well... oh well.

I'm sure it wishes it was too. But it's something hardware-incompatible with the Macs. You can't even use an Addonics on a Macbook Pro when the MBP is running Windows.

I got a cheap one from NewEgg, not this one in particular, and it worked fine. The system didn't need drivers for the adpater, but what is in the adapter (the p2 card)

looks like a windows only unit to me...
To work on Mac it needs the matching chips that apple has in their kexts/PC card Drivers, or it has to have a Mac "Driver" supplied, Looks like it does not, and for about $25 what would one expect..

Okay, just received it. Plugged it in. It works. Best buy on the internet right now.

You will, of course, have to install the P2 drivers for the PCMCIA slot that you've now added, but this Rosewill thing, for $25 -- I'm not complaining. I now have two slots, and an instant migration path if my next laptop doesn't have a PCMCIA slot.

$25 -- free shipping -- no drivers, nothing to go wrong, no funky cable or hassles like the Duel. This thing rocks.

Of course, no way to know how robust it will prove to be in field use, so this is of course only a "first impressions" post, but the "first impressions" are very positive. Thanks to Greeches for finding it and pointing it out!

Which PC laptop are you using with the EC/34?

Lenovo R61. It has both PCMCIA and ExpressCard slots on it.

Looking to upgrade to an i7 if they'll ever release one...
