For any of those of you who don't know: Kholi's reviews are incisive, accurate and very good. If you have any flaws in your film that you are uncomfortable with or can't take an honest critique, this is not the way for you.

I agree that no one should have to ask Michael, but Kholi is speaking from experience in light of past drama and avoiding future drama. Also it's nice to know before your write a thoughtful essay that the effort is at least appreciated / welcome.

Sucks to write something long and thoughtful and have it not even acknowledged by the filmmaker or have them get all up in your grill about it.

Yeah, the intent is never to destroy or degrade, only to offer an honest opinion and hopefully generate thoughts for the future. I'd be FINE with someone passing over it, but when it gets personal that's when I start backing off.

I haven't been around enough to really know your history here, but if you're a viewer willing to give an honest opinion that's enough for me! Seriously, objective opinions can be hard to come by, so all the feedback here is one of the things that makes the fest so great. You don't have a vested interest (no film in the fest), so that makes your opinion all the more valuable. Plus, you seem like a pretty straight shooter, which is great!

Hey guys,

Gonna get back to this tonight, hopefully. Had sudden inspiration thanks to the fest entries and laid down 60+ pages of feature RE-WRITE in two days. Thanks dudes. Re-drafting is hard to do, this is like the official "Fifth" draft after working on a script for a year, but technically like the twelfth. Yikes.

Can't wait to watch some more.
