I got a $12 adapter from Adorama so I could dump my CF cards through the PCMCIA slot of my laptop. For some reason when I am dumping it maxes out my CPU??

Is there some reasonable explanation?

What are my options for fast offloads?

Anyone having this issue? Or anyone offloading like this without issues?
