Here's a rough cut of a short I'm working on. The syncs off, the color is getting worked on and it's only part of a bigger project, but I'd really like to get some opinions... and these boards have never been shy in sharing them. :)
Thanks for the time. Look forward to some of your thoughts.

Well since it is part of a bigger project I can let go with the fact I wasn't too sure what it was about. I gathered it was about an obsessive compulsive woman. One thing I noticed was the continuous repeating noise through the entire sequence. Like it was the heads of the audio device needing to be cleaned or something? Getting rid of that will help it. The actress did stumble her line in the beginning which might help the picture by editing that if possible. When the toilet flushes it is almost overpowering their voices and made it hard to hear them. And the man talking in the very beginning in the other room seemed a little too soft to make out everything. The editing was tight and clean. The acting was great! And the lighting was nice as well. Overall it is looking like a good start to a great short. It felt like it was a segment cut out of a theatrical movie. Nice job and hope to see more. *** out of 5

Thanks for the view. We didn't have enough footage to work around the stumble, so hopefully it doesn't have sore thumb status. The repeating sound we actually put in, to emulate a fan that was in the bedroom and we put it through the entire sequence to give ourselves a bed of sound to build off of. It was a choice, if it's distracting we may have to pull it. Thanks for the help.

That was really great. I've developed a bad habit when I watch videos linked from these forums where I find myself more focussed on the image quality and looking for flaws and am completely oblivious to the story, but this one made me forget all that and really drew me in.
The girl was brilliant. Very believeable. The guy was good, too, albeit a little stilted at times, but that's probably only apparent because the girl was so convincing. The dialogue, editing and shot choices were great, too. It's also nice to see a film about a character with OCD that invokes the viewer's sympathy, not just portraying them as crazy and unhinged (unlike that awful E4 Skins spin-off "Brink", or this (http://www.vimeo.com/4385840) cringeworthy short... ugh).
I did find the "fan" noise a bit irritating, though. If possible, I'd like to see it either removed, lowered in volume or changed to a different fan sound.
So, yeah, great work! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the kind words. I was very pleased with the acting as well. As for the fan sound, the initial edit was on a computer with terrible speakers, so we'll have to revisit that. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm going to eliminate it altogether.
Thanks(?) for the link with the OCD short. It made me feel a little more righteous in my cause. :)
