You can find 1080p and 720p versions form our webpage. Here's a lowly youtube:

Somewhere in the distant future. A world under attack. A lone woman gazes into the abyss.

We are in the middle of writing our apocalyptic script and this was mainly a test film to see how far we could push our effects and production. We weren't even supposed to shoot this much, just mainly location scouting. But after we found a great area that reminded us slightly of the world from Fallout we also decided to film something. Everything slowed down to 25p to match PAL. A couple of shots with the Sony HC1.

Editing was consciously kept at a slow pace because it was new to us and I like to keep myself challenged. It's almost poem-like.

The bad guys here are slightly off, they come off as barbarians which was not planned. And I definitely don't like the way they run :9 . But we'll continue to plan our next bigger thing and learn from this experience!

did you use an iscorama 36 anamorphic adapter? That lens flare looks familiar.

Nice job on layering the effects in the background for that nice long pan shot. Only thing I would change would be the flames in the distance. If they were slowed down they would appear to be larger. Oh and the actress looks very pretty for being out in that environment. There is no dirt or smudges on any of them. Of course they could have just landed in that desert from a spaceship above so it still works. Is that gun a C-stand? Hehe. It all looks good and it's short and sweet which I like. Nice job!

I like it. Just on an editing note, I think you spend way too long on the girl's reactions to the burning city. Find another way to shoot that or edit it down imo, it drags.

This is a wet dream of a HDSLR movie. Really high production values and very well shot. I like the lead role. That weapon is very powerful for a Manfrotto tripod!! :)

I like it lingering on the girl watching the landscape burning. I totally get what she's feeling. It's necessary for the calm to descend and for us to take it all in, before the action starts. And when the action does start it feels better because of the lull beforehand. Just my opinion.

Watching the making of at the end shows that 'its happening' on the set. Good camaraderie and I like the lead girl's attitude. She's cool. Amazing location too. What lenses and what software for the FX?

Haha, yeah. We found an even better tripod that doesn't stick out so much.

I agree completely. I wanted to something different than what we've done before and really focus on some shots and let them play out. Not cut out fast just for the sake of trimming time.

Yeah, she's awesome and we're lucky to have her in our little group! I don't know what lenses our DOP used, gonna have to ask about it. We did use After Effects and Pftrack (tracking the first panorama shot) for the effects and slowed everything down to 25p because the 5d is 30. There are also a couple of shots done with the Sony HC1. Low angle shot of the bad guys is one and so is the teleshot of the burning city.
