I have a question for the 17-40mm lens on a 7D for video use.

So I was at bestbuy testing the camera out and I like what I got. I noticed with the kit lens it comes with, it has a stabilizer built in the lens. I see the 17-40mm lens does not.. Will this make the image very bumpy??? Because by looking at footage with the stabilizer off, it looks terrible! ..... the quicker this gets answered, the quicker I can purchase one though.. Because I really like the camera! Thanks

At 17 to 35 or so you should be just about fine without the stabilizer. Starting to get towards 40mm it begins to come in handy. Personally I'd go with the 17-40 if I were you and just buy a tripod/monopod/glidecam/shoulder mount etc. ... for stabilization if you find you need it for your uses.
