So its pretty dry over in the forum with all this chat of res charts + this and that....Thought I would share some new frame grabs.
This latest promo couldnt be more different from the last...
Gone from sweaty boys in a mosh pit, shot handheld, black and white... to a 'studio' setting with a 24 piece choir and bright colors!

Im again reaaaally stoked what this camera can do.
Shot iso160 1/100 shutter. All shot on a 35mm Zeiss prime.
These grabs are taken from the ProRes conversions and resized to 480p jpegs for web.
Its a pretty post heavy video so will be a few weeks before its finished but will share it when I'm done.

Amazing looking grabs. Which 35mm Zeiss was this? an old Contax? or one of the new ZE/ZF mounts?

You are my most favorite junior member EVER. You should have a custom title like "Quality Controller" or something :D
Lovely grabs. Can't wait to see this video!

Cheers dude! Whens your vid finished that you posted the test/mini edit from? You loving the 7d as much as me?
The thread you created in the main forum had me pretty amused! It was like reading one college essay after another for a while... ahhh people are funny.

haha! cheers, i checked your reel. first 2 shots... BOOOM. lovely stuff!
Ive been a lurker for a long long time and bought a DIY 35mm adapter from one of the users here back in the day when the adapter craze first started kicking off.... ahhh the memories!
Im pleased they've opened a separate section for the tests and stuff. I always thought this was an amazing place to go for indies rather than a 'tech forum'. The buzz and excitement before this camera was released was justified in my opinion... and then rather than following that up with everyone hi-fiving at how great their sh*t was looking it all went a bit depressing with test chart after test chart. JUST SHOOT NICE IMAGES!
I would rather see what you can do with a camera than what you cant, but obviously it helps to know a cameras limitations and its not Barrys fault that everyone pays more attention to a res chart than actual footage.
I only just found that Stu Maschwitz guys blog through this forum... what a lad! His 7D 'review' was spot on

The 35mm Contax is a gem. I have a 2.8 was this a 2.8 or a 1.4 I'll be very jealous if it's the 1.4 haha.
I've got a 50mm and 85mm as well. Just love the look you can get with them.

Well at least you have access to the 1.4 haha. My Dream is that one day I will stumble upon an old garage sale and the person selling used camera gear has no idea what her late grandfather had collecting dust in a box in the attic and I buy one for 5 bucks after haggling them down from 5.50

Nice details and sharpness, but is the whole video black background?

Stills look great Bob. Looking forward to seeing the video.
Question for you guys about the zeiss. I'm building my lens collection for my 7D. I have been contemplating going with L series primes, but the price is a bit crazy not to mention the 24mm is out of stock everywhere.
So my question is the 35mm 1.4 lens you're referring to the contax distagon?
Thanks!
