Maybe it would be helpful to do our own market research for Panasonic, Canon, Sony and Nikon? I'd rather they asked DVXUser members, than the general public that's for sure

Based on the promised 5D 24p firmware update, Canon in particularly really do seem to be listening - to cinematographers. Not just photo pros, journalists or the vast majority of their customers on the street. But to film makers and video pros...

Would like to get some perspective on the various bugs like aliasing, etc. How important is it to fix these things in future cameras?

And aside from that, how important are the various features... 24p? Low light performance?

What is it that made us become HD-SLR owners in the first place?

Let's hope the future models are another revolution. They may look like steady evolutions but the ultra high sensitivity models like the D3S and 1D Mk IV are certainly a step in the 'revolution' direction. I've always valued low light shooting.

Please vote for 3 items at once.

I voted (in order or importance): lenses, image processing, low light sensitivity. I consider those to have the biggest affect on the final film.

Interesting you chose lenses... Canon and other dSLR makers definitely aren't short on amazing lenses.

Aliasing, Rolling Shutter, and a better codec would be my wishes.

Theres no denying what they do for the money is great.

Lenses - yeah, great lenses are already everywhere. I class them as the most important aspect of the HD-SLR format. I don't mean to single those out as an area of improvement, although video optimised lenses from Canon with full time AF tracking would be nice.

No, what brought me to the GH1 and now the 5D Mark II is not so much price tag (that's useful, not so much exciting), it's all about image quality - creative possibilities of interchangeable lenses and portability.

for me buying a video DSLR is about

1. DOF
2. portability
3. having a stills camera as a bonus
4. price

In that order.

Get over this. Not going to happen any time soon with results acceptable for professional productions.
