Is the Zoom H4n the best route for audio

I am on the fence on whether I will be getting the lackluster Pentax K-x to save money or go all out with my finances and do the 7d. Either way, I want to go ahead and make my audio gear choice and get that out of the way.
I know that the H4n is the hot item it seems and I just wanted to make sure it is the wisest purchase for capturing audio or if there is something else in its price range that is better, more user friendly, or anything of the nature.

A couple of other options are a little better, but a little costlier. Nothing beats it for the budget price.
